Interact Ambassadors Program - Kenya and Mexico

Empowering Youth. Enabling Mobility. Building Peace.

District 5495’s Interact Ambassadors Program is the only Rotary initiative in the world offering high school students the chance to train and serve internationally—partnering with Crutches4Africa in Kenya and ALEM in Mexico. Together, we provide life-changing mobility devices to people with disabilities, while empowering the next generation of youth leaders through hands-on global service.

 Global Reach

  • In Kenya, our Ambassadors distribute mobility devices—wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, and more—collected by our clubs throughout the year.
  • In Mexico, students work with ALEM, a team of inspiring individuals with disabilities who design and repair custom wheelchairs for their community.

 Local Impact
 Each student Ambassador is selected through a competitive process and embarks on a 6-month journey of leadership, cultural immersion, public speaking, project planning, and service. This is more than a trip—it's a transformative experience that shapes future leaders.
